Warm and Welcoming
Located along the Eastern edge of the Cordilla Central Mountain Range, approximately forty-five minutes northeast of Madrid, sits Fuentelfresno. This will be a traditional partridge shoot, and all shooting will be conducted within the confines of the Estate, with different drives every day. This warm and magnificent property consists of 35,000 acres filled with olive groves, almond trees, vineyards, farmland, and rolling hills, all providing excellent habitat with perfect topography for shooting. Birds are driven over narrow valleys for the guns waiting below.

What Our Travellers Say
Needless to say we both had a great time. You both are the pair ultimate team. You guys works so well together, and you gave a trip to remember. Everyone in the group was delightful. You vetted us all to be a very good mix. We are looking forward to our next trip with Delaney and Sons.

We have been on 3 trips with Delaney and Sons. Scotland, Spain and Wales. We thoroughly enjoyed each one! The shooting, the food, the accommodations and the company were all excellent. Sean and Liz have a knack for making sure everything is perfect. We will definitely be going on more trips with them. We have to do more than one because we just can’t decide which one we loved the most!

We have never felt as welcome and comfortable as those times spent with Liz and Sean Delaney. After our arrival in the various venues, every detail and need was attended to efficiently. Janie in particular was put at ease by the presence of other like-minded lady shooters. Regardless of the venue, the shooting was beyond what we could have imagined. After a robust “shooting lunch”, the day inevitably ended with a sumptuous meal at a local lodge or grand residence. We look forward to a reprise of the Spain partridge shoot next January and joining old friends.

Shooting was challenging but doable. Camaraderie was excellent. Accommodations were 5-6 stars out of 5. Food was sublime. Madrid was fascinating and fun. Helpers were the best. Logistics handled perfectly.

Thank you for keeping us well-informed about the things we needed to do before our trip to Madrid. You helped keep us on track and we appreciated the timely nudges. From beginning to end, everything was very well organized. No drama! You are all very warm, friendly and encouraging hosts and Patricio is a welcoming and gracious leader at the lodge. I loved our rustic surroundings accented with elegant touches-waiters in gloves, candelabra on the table, nice linens, formal table settings and service. Such a treat in this casual world.
From a non-shooter standpoint, the shoot was a very entertaining thing to watch. The planning, timing and coordination that went into each portion of the shoot was a treat to see. The beaters, loaders and secretarios were each a model of professionalism. But then there was the food!!! Superb feasts both in the field and at table. Can’t say enough about the wonderful meals and tapas.

This was my first partridge shoot. The birds were quick and took advantage of the tailwind. The trip was well coordinated; activities happened on time. The accommodations were most comfortable and quiet. The food was good and I tended to overeat. The food tour of Madrid was tasty and our guide was well experienced. The other guns were experienced and much better shots than me. The entire staff at the lodge was most cordial and helpful!
