We first met the Delaneys at the home of a mutual friend in the summer of 2018. Our friend introduced us and immediately suggested we sign up for an upcoming trip to Wales. We took the bait and the adventures began. Since that first trip in 2018, we have traveled with the Delaneys multiple times across Wales, England, Scotland, Spain, and Morocco.

After the 2018 trip to Wales, which surpassed all of our expectations, our family of five signed up for the same trip to Brecon Beacons Wales for 2019. We keep returning as the trips are well researched; the package is complete with no surprises. Each of these trips include features that only an insider or local would know about, and those features make each trip truly memorable. These features vary from visiting the Purdey and Dickson gun rooms to enjoying a whiskey tasting from a local distillery to special meals in castles, all while enjoying stress-free logistics from their fantastic local support team.

When we started travelling with D&S, one of us was a novice hunter at best. Sharing a peg was the best fit for us; one could coach when needed, and the more difficult locations/pegs could be passed along as needed! Confidence and ability have improved greatly in these various settings, and the support of the group has always been greatly appreciated.

Since the first trip to Wales, we developed numerous friendships and have found ways to share good times together; whether it be at fundraising events, sporting clays facilities, wineries and pubs. The camaraderie we have experienced within the D&S family has been a major reason that we continue the adventure.

Where do I start? My first time shooting in England and my expectations were high, because of good friends having already experienced Delaney & Sons on previous trips. It started with the people: guests, trip leaders, support team and their attitudes made it a great experience. The variation of estates, each with different presentations on each drive. The excellent loaders were there to keep us strong and prepare us for what was coming. The birds were unbelievable and certainly tested my skills. I learned and improved all week and bonded with my fellow shooters over fabulous meals and libations.  It is certainly a trip to remember! Many thanks to everyone!

What a great week of shooting! The weather held for us and the birds flew well. We had four “rookies” with us this week and the loaders coached them up in short order. Our house was very comfortable and the meals were wonderful. The camaraderie was excellent. Our group gelled quickly and there were smiles all around when the birds started falling. Delaney & Sons did a wonderful job of putting all the parts of the week together. As always, thanks again for a very memorable trip. Can’t wait to start planning for the next adventure.

Absolutely the perfect trip for anyone’s first driven shoot. Ed, the host, and staff were excellent. Best game we’ve ever tasted with special call out for the elevenses!

I can’t praise the Delaney’s highly enough. They run a thoroughly well planned and executed operation. Quality of shooting, accommodations, transportation, food, etc.; all the bases are covered. I am eager to participate in my next event with them.

Thank you for keeping us well informed about the things we needed to do before our trip to Madrid. You helped keep us on track and we appreciated the timely nudges. From beginning to end, everything was very well organized. No drama! You are all very warm, friendly and encouraging hosts and Patricio is a welcoming and gracious leader at the lodge. I loved our rustic surroundings accented with elegant touches-waiters in gloves, candelabra on the table, nice linens, formal table settings and service. Such a treat in this casual world.

From a non-shooter standpoint, the shoot was a very entertaining thing to watch. The planning, timing and coordination that went into each portion of the shoot was a treat to see. The beaters, loaders and secretarios were each a model of professionalism. But then there was the food!!! Superb feasts both in the field and at table. Can’t say enough about the wonderful meals and tapas.

Having made previous trips to Wales and England with Delaney and Sons, convinced the experience could not get any better; Liz and Sean unveil a new expedition into the mix, Spain and Morocco. Top shelf shooting venues and accommodations await. You will not find a better outfit or group of people with which to tag along.  Where to next… Scotland of course!
