Get to KnowLeaf
Leaf, an energetic and loving Springer, who hails from Northern Ireland, is our dedicated flusher and picker-up here in the United States.
Get to KnowLucia & Patricio
Lucia's father, Carlos de Llanza, is the owner of Finca Fuentelfresno, our primary estate in Spain. Lucia and her husband Patricio are our hosts at Fuentelresno, with Patricio running the beating line, loaders, secretarios, and shooters, and Lucia managing the picking up after each drive. They are an efficient team, and the most warm and welcoming of hosts.
Get to KnowJon (or JTC)
Jon (aka JTC) - Jon is the head of our coaching and loading team, and also helps to keep our days running well. He is an especially understanding and helpful shooting coach, and he has a real talent for getting people's shooting styles adjusted to take high incoming birds. Jon lives in Ponty-Pool, Wales with his wife Laura , daughter Rosie and son Oliver.
Get to KnowThe Sons - Hank & Graham
The Sons - Hank (19) and Graham (17) have been a part of Delaney & Sons from the start. They help make preparations prior to a Team's arrival, act as loaders and spotters throughout the week, carry gun slips and cartridge bags, help clean the guns every night, help the chef in the kitchen, and entertain guests in the evening. They both have an infectious enthusiasm! During the rest of the year they help as loaders on Continental shoots, and both are into swimming, soccer, basketball, tennis, skiing, and fishing (as well as shooting).
Get to KnowKevin
Kevin, the Executive Director of Field Operations for Delaney & Sons in Wales, England, and Scotland, is the backbone of our operations in the United Kingdom. He helps vet new shoots and venues, assists with loading and coaching, organizes ground transport throughout the week, keeps the cartridge supply running, cleans guns at the end of the day, and generally makes sure that the works are moving seamlessly. He's pretty good to have a pint with too! Kevin and his wife Lowri live in Brecon, at the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales.
Get to KnowSean Delaney
Sean is responsible for making sure that everything behind the scenes is taken care of, and there is a lot. From organizing the shoot calendar and staffing needs to negotiating with cartridge suppliers and obtaining Visitors Permits, he helps to ensure that our days are pre-arranged to run smoothly. A lifelong wingshooter himself, Sean's interest in driven shooting spawned from his appreciation of fine vintage British doubles. Needless to say, after his first day of driven shooting in 2014, he was hooked. One of his biggest passions is introducing people to the unique wingshooting and deer hunting traditions of Great Britain and Spain.
Get to KnowLiz Delaney
Liz is responsible for the day to day operations at Delaney & Sons throughout the year, and she personally hosts every shoot on our calendar. She works during the pre-season to make sure that all logistical factors are planned well in advance, and oversees the execution of those plans during the week of each shoot. She assembles the teams of shooters and makes sure that everyone's needs are met. Liz is an avid shot herself, and got into wing-shooting after deciding that fly fishing didn't provide enough instant gratification. She is also a professional photographer, and spends a lot of time behind the lens capturing memories for our shooters. In short, Liz makes sure that everyone (shooters and non-shooters alike) has a great experience, and that all expectations are exceeded.
